St. Michael’s Thanksgiving Food Drive……What a success!

This Thanksgiving food drive gave us the opportunity as parishioners of St. Michael’s to come together as friends and as a community to help those less fortunate than ourselves.

With 760 bags of groceries collected and 777 turkeys donated we were able to assist many families through the Thanksgiving holiday.

Food and turkeys donated were distributed throughout Greenwich and our Diocese. Helping those at Inspirica, St. Margaret's Shrine, Breakthrough Options, Carver Center, Neighbor to Neighbor, and Blessed Sacrament Parish.

Our 8th grade students, along with St. Michael's Youth Group bagged all the groceries ready to be loaded onto the truck ready for delivery.

Thanksgiving Food Drive

Every year, St. Michael’s prides itself on such a generous giving community where we can all come together to help others in need. As in previous years, we have partnered with the Blessed Sacrament Parish in Bridgeport to offer our support. Click here for the shopping list of food which will be given to a much needed family this Thanksgiving!

Please remember any extra food will be given to Blessed Sacrament food pantry which will provide support for families throughout the year. Items will be collected from November 5th through November 19th at the back of the church in Guinan Hall and delivered the following Monday & Tuesday (20th & 21st). The newly regenerated youth group of St. Michael’s will be organizing the bags as part of their community service. If you would like to be part of the team who distributes the food on Wednesday, November 22nd from the Blessed Sacrament Parish, please call the number below for more details.

Our Kindergarten class at GCS was blessed to be taught by Fr. Ian the significance of many of the things we do at Mass like ringing of the bells, reading from the Bible, the Eucharist, Prayer and Sharing the Peace of the Lord, blessing ourselves with Holy Water, Baptism and what all the different colored vestments mean!

It was a special time for the children thanks to Fr. Ian.

On December 9, 2016, the Parish celebrated its annual Christmas Dinner Party at  the Stanwich Club. The evening was very well attended and the Chairladies and volunteers did an exquisite job decorating the various rooms at the Club. The main room was filled with Silent Auction items and the adjacent room had all the Live Auction items.

It was a fun filled evening with great music, wonderful dining , and caroling from all the parishioners. We also enjoyed the company of all the priests who celebrate Mass at St. Michael's: Father Ian, Father Richard, Father Connollly, Father Serio, and Father Marcotte. Heavenly lights and heavenly dining made for a perfect beginning to our Christmas Season.
